Samsung Galaxy S25 series users can now download the stable version of One UI 8 in select countries. However, the U.S. will have to wait for a little longer before users can download.

Samsung started the release of One UI 8 in Korea on Monday and launched both the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 with the update installed. However, users have taken to Reddit to reveal that European models can now download the update. Several users also stated that their phones had access, even though they weren’t enrolled in the beta.
We checked our Galaxy S25 Ultra to see if we had access here in the U.K., and we were able to download the update. This device wasn’t enrolled in the beta program, which seems to confirm this isn’t a prerequisite for the update. The update appears to be available in France, Germany, Georgia, Poland, Sweden and Turkey.

However, it looks like the U.S. will have to wait for a while yet, as North American users have reported not having access to the update yet.

While Samsung has yet to reveal an official release time just yet, we can make an educated guess based on Samsung’s past decisions. For instance, One UI 7 initially rolled out in the UK on April 7, 2025, while the U.S. release was delayed until April 10, 2025.
With that in mind, we could be waiting for a couple of days before the U.S. has access, but it is possible that Samsung could push for an earlier rollout. So at this point, all we can do is keep our eyes open.
What are some of the changes coming with One UI 8

For the most part, One UI 8 follows Samsung and Android’s recent trend of focusing on quality of life improvements over flashy new features.

However, the update does include improvements for some of Samsung’s best features — which are worth taking note of. For instance, One UI 8 improves the Quick Share feature with an improved UI and easier-to-understand design.
There are also needed improvements for Samsung DeX, which consist of optimization options for the available resolution, as well as the option to rotate the screen 90, 180 or 270 degrees. The update also improves the Samsung split-screen features, as well as offering a redesigned version of the Samsung Internet browser.
The AI select feature has undergone some changes too, and this update makes it easier to sort through your phone’s files. This includes options to filter your files by the app you used to download them, making it even easier to find that perfect picture you found online.
One UI 8 might not be as exciting as iOS 26 in terms of features, but we would always recommend users update their phones as soon as possible. This isn’t just for new features, as it’s also bringing a host of security updates to help protect your new device.
