With the weather getting colder, there’s little nicer than a nice hot brew to take away the chill. What’s more, with pumpkin spice season starting and everyone from Costa, Starbucks and even Greggs unveiling their autumn themed drinks, a takeaway coffee is an even more tempting prospect than usual for many of us. For anyone constantly out and about and buying coffee takeaways as they go, a travel mug is a great way to save cash, help the environment and enjoy one of life’s pleasures. But as temperatures drop, those lattes can get cold quickly and some of the most effective insulated mugs usually come with a premium price tag. Foodie brand Ninja’s Sip Perfect Travel Mug has constantly sold out and needed restocking since it was launched in the UK last year, with shoppers buying the £34.99 cup in a rainbow of colours. The mug is now available on Ninja’s site for £24.99 in their autumn sale , but savvy shoppers have spotted a way to stack deals and get it even cheaper – down to as little as £7.12 for bargain hunters who buy it today (Friday, September 26). To get the double deal stack, shoppers need to sign up as a new member of money-saving portal Top Cashback, where they will get a £15 free signup bonus on their first qualifying spend at any of the thousands of retailers that work with the site. For today only, shoppers will get an additional £2 bonus on the spend, which means they’ll effectively get the mug for £7.12 after all cashback has been paid, almost 80% less than the usual full price – although after midnight the end price works out at £9.12, which is still a chunky saving. The Sip Perfect has become a favourite among Ninja fans since its launch last year. Not only does the mug’s lid lock shut, making it totally leak-proof in bags, but it also absorbs heat energy, ensuring drinks reach the ideal sipping temperature within minutes of being made from a boiling kettle and then keeping it at that temperature for hours. The mug is currently available in either a neutral stone shade or a cheery green and comes with free delivery. It has an average rating of 4.2 out of 5 based on 674 reviews on the Ninja site, with shoppers praising it for being leakproof, dishwasher safe and perfect for using at work. For tea and coffee fans finding the perfect travel mug can be a bit like searching for the Holy Grail, but there are plenty of other options vying for consumers’ attention, especially with it being a Christmas great gift for friends, family and secret santas alike. The Stanley Quencher may be the celeb-drink bottle of choice, but their iconic Aerolight not only comes in at a slightly cheaper price point – it’s available in 24 colours from £33 on the Stanley website where it can even be engraved with a personalisation – but on Amazon if you’re less fussed about shade you can choose one from £25.99 . Elsewhere, Dualit has a stunning brushed stainless steel option currently £19.99 on Amazon . Amazon also sells a Thermos Stainless Travel Mug starting at £26. , coming in chic shades such as black, copper, red, and raspberry. However, there are plenty of die-hard fans of the Ninja Sip Perfect , with many reviewers on the Ninja website saying they’ve ended up buying more than one to gift to friends and family. One five star reviewer described the cup as ‘keeping drinks hot hot hot!’ They added: “I’ve bought three of these cups now, for myself, son and daughter. I am very pleased with the performance as it keeps drinks hot for a very long time, especially in these cold winter months.” A second shopper described it as ‘the best travel cup I’ve ever had,’ adding: “I tipped it upside down to see if it leaked and not a drop. It held a good temperature for over three hours and that’s in wintry conditions. It’s the perfect size for in a car and a sturdy build. It ticks every box.” In the reviews the mug proved a hit at work with everyone from a dog groomer who said ‘it stays hot for hours and drink stays hair free’ to medical staff, with one remarking: “As a nurse it can be hours before I get a chance to drink my coffee, but with this travel mug it’s still hot and is perfect for me.” Meanwhile, one final shopper said: “I bought this for my wife to use at work. She is a teacher and drinks always go cold before they are drunk. This is perfect, it keeps the drinks at just the right temperature for ages. No more cold tea or coffee ever.” However, one shopper cautioned that once filled the Ninja Perfect Sip might be too weighty for some, explaining: “Generous sized but heavy and it’s a little bit too clumpy for my small/average sized hands. The lid is good and it doesn’t leak and is dishwasher safe. However I am still looking for a lighter weight, slightly smaller model.”
