â– Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu departed early on Thursday on a diplomatic visit to the United States to address the UN General Assembly in New York and meet with President Donald Trump at the White House. The “Wings of Zion” government plane, used by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for official flights, changed its regular route to the U.S. for the first time, avoiding flying over European countries and thereby adding over 600 km (370 miles) to its regular flight route.
â– A Moroccan resident and American-Israeli citizen was arrested on suspicion of coming to Israel to spy for Iran, the Israel police and Shin Bet announced on Thursday.
â– Italy has sent a second navy ship in support of the international aid flotilla that has come under drone attack while trying to deliver aid to Gaza, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said on Thursday.
