Elon Musk’s X has faced a legal setback in India. The Karnataka High Court has dismissed the platform’s challenge to the country’s stricter content moderation rules.

X had filed the case in March, targeting the government’s expanded censorship framework.

But the court ruled the petition had no merit, with Justice M Nagaprasanna stating that regulating social media content is essential.

Since 2023, India has increased its control over online content, allowing more officials to issue takedown orders directly to tech companies via a government portal launched in October.

This ruling marks a key moment in India’s push to tighten its grip on the digital space.

Buying pledged gold is now a lucrative business

Struggling to repay gold loans is pushing many to risk losing their pledged gold.

Sensing this, informal buyers now offer a quick way out—releasing the gold, valuing it at market price, deducting costs, and paying customers the balance in cash.

Firms like DRU Gold and KMK Gold Traders simplify the process, even assisting with gold release.

With gold prices rising and loan defaults increasing, more people are opting for this route to recover some value instead of losing everything.

Most of these buyers operate under pawn broker or local trade licenses, tapping into a growing need.

Race to develop India’s 5th-Gen fighter jet heats up as L&T-BEL consortium enters AMCA programme

The race to develop India’s 5th-generation fighter jet, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), has intensified.

For the first time, a private consortium led by Larsen & Toubro, in partnership with Bharat Electronics Limited, has officially entered the competition.

This marks a shift away from the traditional dominance of state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), reflecting the government’s push for greater private sector involvement under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

L&T and BEL bring extensive experience from the Tejas fighter programme, combining aerospace engineering with advanced electronics to deliver a cutting-edge indigenous solution.

The bid deadline has been extended to September 30, with more private players expected to join. HAL will also partner with select private firms to compete.

If successful, this partnership could reshape India’s defence aviation landscape by fostering competition and breaking HAL’s long-standing monopoly in fighter aircraft production.
