Barbados now has a Junior Stock Exchange.
Word of this came from Chief Executive Officer of the Small Business Association, Dr. Lynette Holder.
She says the Junior Stock Exchange originated from the Innovation and Growth Market.
It is a new project set up within the Barbados Stock Exchange with the goal of helping small businesses gain access to equity funding.
Dr. Holder says the organisers have hit the ground running and the first event of the new entity is in place.
The Small Business Association’s CEO says the finance market has been strengthened by the presence of the new body.
