The 6th Annual Detroit Black Festival is taking place at the Charles H. Wright Museum now through September 28th. This year’s festival promises a spectacular experience that blends cinema, culture, and cocktails. It will feature a lineup of 72 original films from 30 countries, celebrating the creativity and talent of Black filmmakers and actors from around the world.

Cranbrook Art Museum
Did you know that the Cranbrook Art Museum is open late every Thursday with free admission? Now you do! Currently, the museum features a new exhibit along with two ongoing ones that you can explore during your visit. If visiting on a Thursday doesn’t fit your schedule, you can also come by from 11 AM to 5 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for an admission fee of $6 to $10.

The Fire & Flannel Festival is everything your fall-loving hearts could imagine! Set along the Detroit Riverfront in Downtown Wyandotte, the festival features live entertainment, dancing witches, live chainsaw carvings, Jack Pine Lumberjack shows from Mackinac Island, axe throwing, a Kids Zone, glassblowing, live pottery making, delicious drinks, and much more! Free Bikes 4 Kidz Collection + Party

If you missed our Go 4 It event, “Wheelie Good Cause,” back in June, Free Bikes 4 Kidz will be collecting gently used and new bikes again this weekend at ten different locations across southeast Michigan. One of the collection sites will also feature a party with live music, food, and drinks.

This one-day festival will feature a vendor market showcasing a diverse selection of supplies and finished textile goods, along with live maker demonstrations and lectures on various aspects of the fiber community.

This weekend there’s a very special FREE event taking place at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant. One hundred and seventeen years ago the first Model T was produced at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant. Sunday, September 28th from 10am-3pm the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant will be hosting a birthday party for the Model T. Visitors can enjoy free Model T rides, vintage vehicles displays, live music, unique vendors, fun games for the kids and BIRTHDAY CAKE!!
