Horowitz named to Baldwin Wallace University dean’s list
Jonathan Horowitz, of Valencia, a graduate of SCVi Charter School majoring in theater stage management and religion, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester at Baldwin Wallace University.
The dean’s list recognizes students who earn a grade point average of 3.8 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more graded hours during the semester.
Baldwin Wallace University, founded in 1845, was one of the first colleges to admit students without regard to race or gender. An independent, coeducational university of 3,200 students, BW offers coursework in the liberal arts tradition in more than 65 academic areas. It is located in Berea, 12 miles from downtown Cleveland.
Gonzalez receives degree from Quinnipiac University
Evelio Gonzalez, of Newhall, received a doctor of medicine degree from Quinnipiac University during a commencement ceremony held in May.
Quinnipiac, in Hamden, Connecticut, is a private, coeducational institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston. The university enrolls 9,400 students in 110 degree programs. Quinnipiac is ranked among the top 100 in The Wall Street Journal/College Pulse “2025 Best Colleges in the U.S.” and is also recognized by U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review’s “The Best 388 Colleges.”
Stoddard graduates from University at Buffalo
Emma Stoddard, of Santa Clarita, graduated from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor’s degree in criminology from the College of Arts and Sciences and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of Arts and Sciences.
UB is New York State’s flagship and the largest and most comprehensive institution in the State University of New York system.
The university awarded over 10,100 degrees across 18 school-based degree-conferral ceremonies held May 1-18 and earlier in the academic year.
UB’s more than 30,000 students pursue their academic interests through more than 500 undergraduate, graduate and professional degree programs. Founded in 1846, the University at Buffalo is a member of the Association of American Universities, which is composed of America’s leading research universities. AAU’s 71 research universities transform lives through education, research and innovation.
DiSilverio earns degree from NIU
More than 2,100 students received their bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Northern Illinois University in May, and included among the graduates was Hannah DiSilverio, of Santa Clarita, who earned a master of science in kinesiology and physical education, sport and exercise psychology.
Northern Illinois University offers more than 170 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs across seven college. Through its main campus in DeKalb and education centers for students and working professionals in Naperville and Rockford, NIU serves a diverse and international student body of over 15,400. The 16 NIU Huskies Division I athletic teams compete in the Mid-American Conference.
