Simon Cowell 'got quite emotional' after Jessica Sanchez's 'America’s Got Talent' win

On Wednesday, “America’s Got Talent” crowned Jessica Sanchez as its season 20 winner, 20 years after her first performance on the show.
She and the show’s judges, Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Mel B and Sofia Vergara can’t get over the “fairytale ending.”
Our entertainment reporter, Courtney Tezeno caught up with some of the “AGT” stars after the finale, where Sanchez told Courtney, “I’m so grateful to be able to do this nine months pregnant and kind of be an inspiration to my daughter and say you can do anything you have the strength to push through and to continue to believe in yourself.”
Judge Howie Mandel, who has been on the show since season 5, applauds Sanchez’s tenacity for never giving up.
“It just shows you that you should never give up if you have a path, if you have a dream, go for it,” he said.
Simon Cowell revealed he “got quite emotional and I just thought it’s like a fairytale ending, referring to the fact that Jessica was a contestant on the first-ever season of “AGT” when she was just 10 years old. Twenty years later, she returned and won the competition while being nine months pregnant.
Spice Girl and “AGT” judge, Mel B told Courtney, “She’s going to have the baby any second, to be able to use your diaphragm like that and have the range that she has, while she’s got another beautiful human being inside her, she’s just magical.”
When Jessica returns home to Texas the first thing she plans on doing is “going to prepare the nursery I guess for when baby girl arrives.”
Congrats on your fairytale win, Jessica!
