WEDNESDAY’S RESULTS Junior Varsity Flag Football

CJM Homeschool 34, Free Will Baptist Christian School 14: The Bulls defeated the Warriors in their St. Croix Interscholastic Athletic Association league game at the Central High School stadium.

Jah’mayke Liverpool ran for two touchdowns, and Shawn Webster Jr. and Zidane Burke added one rushing TD each for CJM Homeschool. On defense, Azani Christopher returned an interception for a touchdown.

Parker Morrissey and Malachi Monday scored for Free Will Baptist.

St. Croix Educational Complex 32, St. Croix Montessori School 0: The Barracudas shut out St. Croix Montessori to win their St. Croix IAA league game at the Free Will Baptist Christian School field.

Keyshawn Matthew ran for four touchdowns for Educational Complex. No other information was available on the game.

Up next: Two games are scheduled for Monday, beginning at 4 p.m. St. Croix Educational Complex takes on Pearl B. Larsen K-8 School at the Free Will Baptist Christian School field, while Eulalie Rivera K-8 School plays John H. Woodson Junior High School at the Central High School field.

Elementary Baseball

Ulla Muller Elementary School “B” 7, Yvonne Milliner-Bowsky Elementary School 4: The Panthers’ “B” team rallied over the final three innings to win their St. Thomas-St. John Interscholastic Athletic Association league opener against the Marlins at the Alvin McBean Ball Park.

Tied 4-all after the first inning, Muller Elementary B (1-0) pulled ahead with a run in the top of the second inning, then added two more runs in the top of the fourth to beat Milliner-Bowsky Elementary (0-1).

No information was available on the leading hitters or winning and losing pitchers for both teams from Wednesday’s game.

Up next: Ulla Muller Elementary School’s “A” team will play Antilles School at the Emile Griffith Ball Park today, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

TUESDAY’S RESULTS Elementary Flag Football

Juanita Gardine K-8 School 1, Ricardo Richards Elementary School 0: The Hurricanes won their St. Croix IAA league game over the Strawberries by forfeit.

Up next: Two games are on the schedule for today at the Good Hope Country Day School field, beginning at 4 p.m. On Field No. 1, Free Will Baptist Christian School faces Eulalie Rivera K-8 School, while on Field No. 2 Pearl B. Larsen K-8 School takes on Good Hope Country Day School.

Antilles’ JV-Middle School volleyball tourney Friday

St. Thomas private school Antilles School will hold its annual junior varsity-middle school volleyball tournament this weekend.

The tournament will be held Friday and Saturday at the school’s Mark C. Marin Center athletics facility, with games starting at 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.

The tournament will have three divisions — middle school boys, middle school girls and junior varsity girls.

The tournament fields will be comprised of:

Middle School Boys: Antilles School (two teams, Canes and Hurricanes), and Julius E. Sprauve School (St. John).

Middle School Girls: Antilles School (two teams, Canes and Hurricanes), Virgin Islands Montessori School and International Academy, Gifft Hill School (St. John) and Julius E. Sprauve School.

Junior Varsity Girls: Antilles School, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Virgin Islands Montessori School and International Academy, Charlotte Amalie High School, and Good Hope Country Day School (St. Croix).

The middle school boys field will play two rounds of round-robin play, with the top two teams advancing to the championship match.

The middle school girls and junior varsity girls divisions will play one round of round-robin play, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals.

Sports-Athletics officials to meet with parents today

The Virgin Islands Education Department’s Division of Sports and Athletics will hold a public meeting with athletes and parents today on St. Thomas.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. today at the Charlotte Amalie High School auditorium.

At the meeting, the leadership team of the Education Department’s Sports and Athletics Division — now led by newly-promoted director Alicia Tomeau — will be available to answer questions, and hear opinions and concerns from parents and athletes.
