ITV America Restructures, Philippe Maigret Departing

ITV Studios is restructuring its U.S. operations, with ITV Studios America head Philippe Maigret set to leave the company.
The reorganization will bring all scripted and unscripted development and production under the umbrella of ITV America, led by CEO David George. ITV Studios America had been the scripted arm of ITV’s stateside operations. Maigret, president and managing director of ITV Studios America, has led the studio since 2015. He’s expected to depart late this year but will remain an executive producer on the company’s current projects, including One with Bedrock Entertainment, which is set up at Prime Video.
“Throughout the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with extraordinary teams and creative partners to build a portfolio of series that reached audiences worldwide and helped establish ITV Studios America as a leading independent studio in the U.S. market,” Maigret said in a statement. “Together, we turned passion and talent into storytelling that was both creatively ambitious and commercially successful. A personal highlight was serving as executive producer of Franklin, a role I’m proud to continue with One alongside other exciting projects ahead.”
ITV Studios America’s scripted output also includes, through its joint venture with Tomorrow Studios, Netflix’s One Piece, Apple TV+’s Physical and Prime Video’s The Better Sister. Tomorrow Studios, led by Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements, will continue to operate independently while working with George and the combined ITV America team.
“There is so much to thank Philippe for over the past ten years. He’s been a terrific colleague and has helped shepherd some truly memorable shows,” said Julian Bellamy, managing director of ITV Studios. “I wish him the very best for his next chapter and look forward to working with him in his role as executive producer. Philippe leaves ITV Studios America very well-positioned for the future. As the marketplace evolves, the time is right to now combine our U.S. unscripted and scripted business under David George. David has built ITV America into a formidable production powerhouse with a string of unscripted hits. He’ll be a fantastic leader for our combined American business going forward.”
Added George, “Leading the newly combined U.S. business for ITV is an incredibly exciting opportunity. Bringing scripted, unscripted and digital together under one roof allows us to create a more cohesive and strategic approach. While the industry presents its challenges, creativity remains at its core — and it’s the chance to push those creative boundaries that motivates me most.”
ITV America is behind a host of unscripted shows including Love Island USA, Hell’s Kitchen, The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Queer Eye.
