As expected, toppled Thai telecoms magnate Thaksin Shinawatra’s grand plan to scatter grandiose integrated entertainment complexes with casinos across the country to revitalize the economy is dead, killed earlier this week by a Senate committee that cited risks to social stability, economic security, and national safety.
