Zoey Holmstrom scored three goals and assisted on two others to lead the Cedar Creek High School field hockey team to a 6-3 victory over Mainland Regional in a Cape-Atlantic League National Division game Wednesday.
Jasline Ruiz scored twice for the Pirates (7-1-1). Casey Ricci also scored. Morgan Sanders assisted on a goal. Kallyn O’Kane made eight saves.
Isabella Zappala made nine for the Mustangs (0-9).
Toms River East 8, Pinelands Reg. 0: Rebecca Griffiths made 14 saves for the Wildcats (2-4-1).
Girls volleyball
Cedar Creek 2, Mainland Reg. 0: The Pirates (8-4) won by set scores of 25-10, 25-18.
Stella Ketschek finished with seven service points, six digs and five kills for Cedar Creek. Heidi Williams added eight assists, eight service points and four digs. Gianna Lee contributed six assists.
Our Lady of Mercy 2, Egg Harbor Twp. 0: The Villagers (8-2) won by set scores of 25-13, 25-10.
Juliet Felicetti led with 15 assists. Kaitlyn Rambo added 14 service points, nine aces, eight kills and three digs. Natalie D’Ottavio contributed 12 service points, six aces, five kills and four digs.
Pinelands Reg. 2, Barnegat 0: The Wildcats (12-0) won by set scores of 25-11, 25-18.
Riley McQuaid finished with 13 assists and 11 service points. Madison Wilbert added 14 service points, nine kills and seven aces. Jayla Kline led with 11 digs. Heidi Cyphert added five kills and five blocks.
Boys cross country
Egg Harbor Twp. 27, Mainland Reg. 30: The Eagles’ JP Discieglia won in 18 minutes, 31 seconds.
Mainland teammates Chris Sanchez (18:33) and Mark Wurzer (18:39) placed second and third, respectively. The Eagles’ Nicholas Natchru finished fourth (19:16). Mainland’s Liam Gerhardt was fifth (19:33).
Girls cross country
Egg Harbor Twp. 26, Mainland Reg. 31: The Mustangs’ Ceci Foreman won in 20:02.
EHT teammates Corinne Conley (20:44), Meghan Johnson (20:45) and Addison Lambert (20:56) placed second, third and fourth, respectively. Mainland’s Lauren LaMonaca was fifth (21:14).
