Volunteers from the Markham 1 District Adventist Community Service Federation recently came together for a week-long program to support local communities.
The activities included helping families, cleaning schools, and assisting youth programs.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Haggai Asugum said, “Our aim is to serve the community with care and respect. Every small action, from cleaning public spaces to helping families, shows our commitment to making a difference.”
He added that the program is also about guiding young people. “We want to inspire them to live with purpose, respect their culture, and help others in their community,” Asugum said.
The week-long effort demonstrated teamwork and dedication, with members from local schools and community groups contributing.
Asugum said the federation hopes these actions will bring people together and encourage more community participation.
“Our goal is to shine a light in the community, showing that faith and service go hand in hand,” he concluded.
