Former teacher claims sex with Kidderminster sixth form pupil was consensual and ‘they loved each other’

David Wilkinson, aged 77, now of Vinsac, Le Vigeant, France, is charged with historic sex offences dating back to the 1980s in Kidderminster.
Wilkinson is charged with several offences including eight counts of sexual assault of a child, two counts of rape and making an indecent photograph of a child.
The jury at Worcester Crown Court heard a transcript of a police interview with Wilkinson where he denied any wrongdoing instead describing a romance with his alleged victim.
Describing when he became sexually involved with one of his female A-level pupils Wilkinson stressed any sexual contact was consensual. She was a teenager and he was in his early forties.
