Week 5 high school football predictions

After Robert Anderson won the first two weeks of The Roanoke Times high school football pick’em competition, two separate winners have taken the succeeding two.
He beat out Anderson by two picks. Case was one of two panelists who, although in the minority, correctly picked Patrick Henry to beat William Fleming, joining Anderson, Altavista to beat Blacksburg, joining York, and Floyd County to beat Grayson County, joining Cara Cooper.
Anderson, the lone panelist to correctly pick Eastside to beat Chilhowie, finished runner-up at 25-6, followed by a 23-8 showing all from York, Cooper and Bryson Gordon.
Case dropped into third place after Week 3 but has climbed back into second, surpassing York by three picks. He’s now four games back of Anderson for the lead.
For this week, Case is going out on a limb by tabbing Staunton River to upset Magna Vista and hand the Warriors their first loss of the season. He also joins Cooper as the only ones picking Pulaski County to beat Cave Spring and joins York as the only ones picking Lord Botetourt to beat GW-Danville.
Gordon stands alone in picking Northwood to beat Chilhowie, and York is making a bold call in tabbing Jefferson Forest to knock off Liberty Christian.
The Roanoke Times game of the week between Radford and James River is also fairly even, as Anderson, York and Cooper are taking the Bobcats. Case and Gordon sit on the other side, taking the Knights.
