Jimmy Kimmel, American television host and comedian, landed in trouble for his comments on the killing of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk during his late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!. ABC announced on Wednesday evening (September 17, 2025) that it was pulling Kimmel’s show “indefinitely.” The move came after conservatives accused the longtime host of inaccurately describing the politics of the man who is accused of fatally shooting the right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, according to The New News Service. The abrupt decision by the network came hours after the chair of the Federal Communications Commission, Brendan Carr, assailed Kimmel and suggested that his regulatory agency might take action against ABC because of remarks the host made on his Monday telecast.”We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid (Tyler Robinson), who murdered Charlie Kirk, as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said while addressing the killing of Kirk in his opening monologue during his late-night show on Monday (September 15, 2025). “Many in Maga-land are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk,” he said, according to The Guardian. He also accused the US vice-president, JD Vance, of blaming the left for Kirk’s death without evidence.“While our side of the aisle certainly has its crazies, it is a statistical fact that most of the lunatics in American politics today are proud members of the far left,” Vance said while hosting an episode of Kirk’s podcast from the White House.Live EventsAccording to NYT News Service, the decision to suspend “Jimmy Kimmel Live” was made by Bob Iger, Disney’s CEO, and Dana Walden, the company’s television chief, according to a person with knowledge of the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a private process. The network did not explain its decision, but the sequence of events Wednesday amounted to an extraordinary exertion of political pressure on a major broadcast network by the Trump administration.US President Donald Trump, in a social media post from Windsor Castle in Britain, where he is traveling, described ABC’s move as “Great News for America.” Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a close ally of Trump, was killed at Utah Valley University campus during an event last week on Wednesday (September 10, 2025). His suspected killer, Robinson, was arrested by police following an intense search.Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
