Is there crossplay in the new Skate? The long-dormant series has returned with a highly anticipated new entry, but how easy is it to play with your friends?
While you would expect cross-platform support in many games these days, there are random occasions where it doesn’t happen.
Here is your answer to how Skate handles crossplay and other cross-platform functionalities.
Is Skate Crossplay?
Yes, the new Skate game has crossplay between all platforms. You can join a game with your friend on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox.
The feature is automatically turned on by default, so you don’t have to wander through various menus trying to find it. You will also regularly encounter players on a different platform as you skate around the area. If you are on Xbox and have blocked cross-platform play in the past, you will need to go into your console settings and turn it back on.
While having crossplay in Skate is great, you will need to put in a little effort to find your friend and add them to your friend list. Here is how to add your friends on a different platform:
Open the Social & Spectate menu (tap left on the d-pad or select it in the hub).
Go to the Search tab.
Input your friend’s username and add them as a friend.
After your friend accepts the friend invite and adds you back, you can invite each other to a party and skate all over the place.
If you are having problems joining your crossplay friends and being met with an error code, try restarting the game, and if that doesn’t work, check the Skate servers for any problems.
Does Skate Have Cross-Progression?
Yes, Skate also has cross-progression. All of your progress made in the game will carry over to any platform you play the game on, as long as you use the same EA account to sign in.
Cross-progression is just as it sounds; all of your progression made completing challenges, equipping cosmetics, and earning reputation around the map will instantly be accessible even if you play on a different platform. It’s a great feature that some would say is just as important to have in today’s gaming climate as crossplay.
