IRS Officer Sameer Wankhede has moved the Delhi High Court, accusing Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan of defaming him via their recently released Red Chillies Entertainment series The Ba***ds Of Bollywood. In the plea, which also named the OTT giant Netflix among others, Wankhede called Aryan Khan’s directorial debut ‘false, malicious, and defamatory’. He claimed that the series “disseminates a misleading and negative portrayal of anti-drug enforcement agencies, thereby eroding public confidence in law enforcement institutions.”
In his plea, Wankhede claimed that the series has been “deliberately conceptualised and executed with the intent to malign Sameer Wankhede’s reputation in a colourable and prejudicial manner.”
“Furthermore, the series, inter alia, depicts a character making an obscene gesture—specifically, showing a middle finger after the character recites the slogan “Satyamev Jayate” which is the part of the National Emblem. This act constitutes a grave and sensitive violation of the provisions of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, which attracts penal consequences under law,” a statement from Wankhede read.
Wankhede has therefore demanded damages of Rs 2 crore, which he claimed will be donated to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital for the treatment of Cancer patients.
What Did Aryan Khan Show In The Ba***ds of Bollywood?
There was a scene in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut which left netizens convinced that the superstar’s son has slyly taken a dig at ex-Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede — the man who famously arrested him during the 2021 drug case investigation.

In the scene, an officer barges into a glitzy party and notices a man smoking a joint. However, upon learning that the man is not from Bollywood, the officer loses interest and lets him go. Moments later, he finds another man — not consuming drugs, just sipping a drink — but since the man belongs to Bollywood, he is promptly arrested.
A Look At Aryan Khan’s History With Sameer Wankhede
Aryan Khan was embroiled in a high-profile case with former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede. In 2021, Aryan was arrested on a cruise ship for allegedly possessing and consuming drugs. However, the case took a dramatic twist when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) accused Wankhede of attempting to extort Rs 25 crore from the Khan family in exchange for lenient treatment for Aryan. The CBI claimed that Wankhede and his associates demanded the bribe, with Rs 50 lakh reportedly being paid. Nevertheless, Wankhede denied the allegations.
