Snack maker to sell 2 central Pa. buildings, upgrade other facilities

Snack maker Utz Brands is making big changes to its facilities in the Hanover area.
Utz plans to sell two buildings and upgrade other facilities in a multi-phase project.
Construction will begin next year to upgrade Utz’s headquarters at 900 High St. in Conewago Township, Adams County, near Hanover, and transform it into what officials are calling a “modern Utz Employee Hub.”
“Teams working across the Hanover campus will be moved to the Utz Employee Hub where they will work in a collaborative and integrated workspace, with upgraded technology and modern, flexible offices, workspaces, and meeting rooms,” the company said in a news release.
The company’s fitness center and direct-store delivery warehouse at 350 Kindig Lane in Conewago Township will move to the 900 High St. campus as part of this transition. The Employee Health Center will remain at 240 Kindig Lane in Conewago Township.
Utz’s Carlisle Street Plant 1 location in Hanover, York County, will continue to house the Utz Outlet Store, the Utz neon sign and the Utz community pavilion. Utz officials plan to create what they call a “modern Utz Community Center” on this site in the future.
Utz plans to sell the facilities at 350 Kindig Lane, and at 1040 High St. in Hanover.
“Utz is proud to have called Hanover headquarters for over 100 years, and we’re pleased to share that the work that began with the opening of the Rice Distribution Center last year was only the beginning of our investments here in Hanover,” Howard Friedman, CEO of Utz Brands, said in the news release.
Utz Brands, Inc. manufactures a number of brands, including Utz, On The Border Chips & Dips, Zapp’s and Boulder Canyon, among others.
