Does Jimmy Kimmel Have A Doctorate? Check His Educational Qualifications

Jimmy Kimmel, the famous American television host and comedian, made it to headlines today after his late-night talk show (Jimmy Kimmel Live!) was pulled off air indefinitely after the comedian allegedly made remarks about the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Born in 1967 in Brooklyn, New York City, Jimmy is the eldest of the three children of Joan (née Iacono) and James John Kimmel, who worked at American Express and was an IBM executive. Raised Catholic, his family moved to Las Vegas when he was nine years old. There he finished his schooling from Ed W. Clark High School, which is a public high school in Las Vegas, Nevada. Opened in 1965, the high school is part of the Clark County School District. He graduated with the class of 1985. He then attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, for one year before transferring to Arizona State University (ASU). He, along with other notable alumni, put the ASU’s foot ball team (Sun Devils) on the pop culture map. Interestingly, Jimmy Kimmel received an honorary doctorate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in 2013. This honorary doctorate was awarded to recognise his success in television and comedy. UNLV is the same university where Kimmel had enrolled, but dropped out after one year in. The LA-based university invited him back to receive the degree, where he delivered a humorous commencement speech telling graduates to finish what they start.
