On Thursday, September 25, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Test squad of the India National Cricket Team for the upcoming home series.
The Shubman Gill-led India National Cricket Team will be locking horns with the Roston Chase-led West Indies National Cricket Team in a two-match Test series at home.
Ahmedabad and Delhi to host Test matches
India and the West Indies will clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in the Test series opener, which will commence on October 2. After that, the two teams will travel to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi for the second game, which will start on October 10.
The BCCI selection committee has named a strong squad for the red-ball games against West Indies, and India would be looking forward to grabbing full WTC percentage points in the series after a 2-2 draw on the England tour.
Notably, India travelled to England for a high-octane Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, which lasted over two months and was their first-ever series in the new ICC World Test Championship cycle.
Meanwhile, the West Indies’ first home series in the WTC 2025-27 cycle came against the Pat Cummins-led Australia. They were absolutely destroyed across all three matches by Australia and suffered a 0-3 whitewash.

Shubman Gill will be leading a strong squad against the Men In Maroon that consists of the big names like KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and others.
Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been selected for the home Test series despite some speculations of him being wrapped up in cotton wool and only being used in overseas matches.
