Police have registered a case of dowry harassment and cruelty against Kannada director S Narayan, his wife Bhagyalakshmi, and their son Pavan. S. Narayan is a filmmaker, director, actor and lyricist of Kannada films has directed several films with Dr Vishnuvardhan. Pavan was unemployed at that time, due to which she took care of the financial expenses and gifted him a car as well. Allegedly, Pavan later borrowed funds to start a film institute, Kala Samrat Team Academy. Pavithra’s mother reportedly financed the venture, which was later shut down due to losses. As per the complaint, Pavithra’s family gave a ring worth Rs 1 lakh and took care of the wedding expenses. She even borrowed a loan and paid them Rs 10 lakh to support Pavan and his family for a business. Despite this, Narayan’s family demanded money and went on to harass her, forcing her out of the house with her minor son, she said in the complaint. Pavithra stayed with her mother and tried to get back to their home many times, but when she could not succeed, she approached the police, the complaint said.
