Eagles’ Jalen Hurts Clears the Air on His Viral Sideline ...

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles notched a 33-26 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3 — and the game came to a close in thrilling fashion.
After going down 26-7 in the third quarter, the Eagles mounted a furious comeback at Lincoln Financial Field. With three unanswered touchdown passes from Hurts, the home team claimed a 27-26 lead in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense then worked their way into field-goal range, giving Los Angeles one final chance to reclaim the lead before time expired.
Eagles defensive lineman Jordan Davis blocked the field-goal attempt and returned it for a game-sealing touchdown.
Everyone on the Eagles’ sideline erupted in excitement as Davis rumbled down the field, except Hurts. The reigning Super Bowl MVP calmly watched the play unfold, not even cracking a smile.
This moment went viral on social media.

Hurts was asked about his stoic reaction during his media availability on Wednesday.
“Everybody processes their emotions in different ways. I had a ton of emotion. Truly,” Hurts said, via team insider Zach Berman. “I’m really processing him picking the ball up and running. I had no doubt that he was gonna make the play, that somebody was going to make the play. The process of him running, just kind of watching.
“There are a lot of conversations on the sideline as well, even prior to that moment of having a sense of focus on the things that we can improve on, too,” he continued. “And so I think also, you know, when you approach it from a bigger perspective and you say, ‘Where are we and where are the opportunities to improve?’ I’m also assessing it from that vantage point as well.”

Hurts showed plenty of emotion in the locker room after the game. The 27-year-old signal-caller hyped up Davis during his postgame interview with NBC Sports’ Maria Taylor.
“When I saw you and Jalen Carter lined up together, I said, ‘Them Georgia boys about to make a play.'” Hurts said. “… That’s exactly what it was. Game over.”
Hurts and the Eagles will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a battle of unbeaten teams on Sunday.
