People Have Thoughts On This Man Carrying A Huge Cross At Charlie Kirk Memorial

Classic. I remember when Jesus added training wheels before bearing his cross, too.

On Sunday, tens of thousands of people flocked to the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, for the memorial of Charlie Kirk, nearly two weeks after he was fatally shot during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.
A lot happened during the memorial. Trump said he hates his opponents and then soft launched the “cure” to autism, which is apparently to stay away from asena…ascenem…minophen…acetaminophen. People wore interesting garb. And Kirk’s widow, Erika, had an unorthodox entrance.
One of the funeral goers even carried around a large wooden cross. Seemingly as a metaphor for the cross that Jesus bore before his crucification.
Following his death, a lot of conservatives have been comparing him to Jesus. Tucker Carlson even drew the comparison during his own speech at Kirk’s memorial, right before he burst out laughing, for some reason.

So, the gargantuan cross seems pretty at home in the grand scheme of what this memorial was. But, people are noticing this one detail about the cross that’s taken them by surprise.
It has wheels.
Literal training wheels. You know, just like Jesus did.
This image has taken the internet by storm, because of course it has, and people are pointing out how poignant they believe this accidental metaphor is for the religious fanbase that Kirk seemed to captivate. Here’s what they’re saying:
“Christian persecution in America is best described by this image: No actual struggle, wearing clothes that cost more than my entire wardrobe, polished cross instead of rugged, and surrounded by crowds of fellow hypocrites cheering on bigotry who believe they’re victims.”
“Somehow the cross on wheels tops the fireworks eulogy as the epitome of evangelicalism.”
“Old guy carrying around a big gaudy cross on training wheels in a football stadium is kind of the perfect metaphor for American Christianity.”
“Not to get all denominational but bearing a cross with wheels on it is sooo protestant.”
No matter what wild curveball each day wants to throw us, at least we can rely on the internet to make it unserious, and that’s something, I guess.
