“In terms of real estate, there is something for everyone.”
Travel + Leisure released a list of the 10 best places to live on the East Coast, and a Massachusetts town — along with several New England seaside towns — earned recognition.
Gloucester, Massachusetts was named the no. 3 best town to live on the East Coast by the travel publication. It was topped by Charleston, South Carolina at no. 1 and Alexandria, Virginia at no. 2.
New England dominated the list compiled by real estate experts. The coastal towns of Newport, Rhode Island at no. 4, Greenwich, Connecticut at no. 7, and Kennebunkport, Maine at no. 8 each made their mark. The four New England towns were lauded for their access to the coast, their history, and their communities.
A part of Cape Ann, Gloucester is a stunning location filled with artists and fishers and laced with trails and 60 miles of coastline. It’s one of the oldest European settlements, but the Cape Ann Museum Green also showcases its indigenous history. Its beaches offer stunning sunset and sunrise views.
Karen Hanson, license partner at Engel & Völkers By the Sea told the publication that Gloucester is a “vibrant, tight-knit, and refreshingly diverse community.”
“In terms of real estate, there is something for everyone,” Hanson told the publication. “There are grand shingle-style mansions on Eastern Point, while cozy cottages and inland homes provide options for newcomers.”
