After postponing another release, “South Park” season 27 is set to resume its bi-weekly schedule. Episode 5, “Conflict of Interest,” will air Wednesday, September 24 at 10 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
Stream “South Park” with Philo, Fubo, Sling, and DirecTV. Episodes are also available next-day on Paramount+.
About “South Park”
Created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, “South Park” is an animated comedy series following Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman, a group of Colorado elementary school students whose bizarre adventures both mock and mimic real-life current events and trends. The most recent episode, “Wok is Dead,” found Butters unable to afford a Labubu as tariffs went into effect.
What to expect from season 27, episode 5
“South Park” season 27 has in large part centered around the Trump administration, poking fun at current immigration policies, religion, rising tariffs, and right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. After parodying the podcaster during episode 2, “Got A Nut,” fans were eager to see how the notorious political satire would depict his assassination and the events that followed. But on September 17 — hours before the episode was meant to air — Parker and Stone issued a statement, “Apparently when you do everything at the last minute sometimes you don’t get it done. This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time. Thanks to Comedy Central and ‘South Park’ fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week!”
With the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” suspension having begun that very same day, the last-minute announcement was met with some suspicion, especially since the series is known for producing full episodes in only six days — as per the 2011 “South Park” documentary, “6 Days to Air.”
Despite the break, season 27 is still set to return at 10/9c on Wednesday, September 24 with episode 5, “Conflict of Interest.” The upcoming installment finds Kyle and Cartman marking each other as foes when a prediction market app becomes the latest school craze.
