EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The City of Eau Claire’s new downtown transfer center is set to open on Monday.
According to a press release from the City of Eau Claire, the first bus will roll out of the new center starting at 5:45 a.m. on Sept. 29, 2025.
“This new transfer center is a step towards a more walkable community, more connection with our neighbors, and an investment to our downtown. We appreciate our business neighbors for their patience during construction,” Katrina Running, Transit Manager, said. “As we celebrate 50 years of transit service, we honor the thousands of riders that have taken the bus over the past few decades and we recognize that no matter your reason for riding, you deserve a welcoming space to wait for the bus.”
Above the center is a parking garage, as well as housing.
The City of Eau Claire’s press release says opportunities for tours and open houses are forthcoming.
