Parents are being warned not to use certain loungers meant for infants due to major safety concerns, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Parents should immediately stop using Jocute infant loungers because the products violate the mandatory standard for infant sleep products, the CPSC warned. This warning involves about 40,000 loungers.
The sides are too low to contain an infant, and the sleeping pad is too thick — posing a suffocation hazard, according to the agency. The enclosed openings at the foot of the loungers are wider than allowed, posing a fall hazard and an entrapment hazard to infants, the alert stated.
Additionally, the loungers don’t have a stand, posing a fall hazard if used on elevated surfaces, the CPSC said.
All of these violations, according to the notice, create an “unsafe sleeping environment” for infants and can cause death or serious injury.
The products were sold online on Amazon by Jocute from January 2024 through July 2025 for between $29 and $76. These loungers may also have been sold by various third-party sellers and on other websites, according to the CPSC.
Jocute has not agreed to recall these loungers or offer a remedy to consumers.
The loungers may have also been sold by various third-party sellers and on other websites.
The CPSC urged consumers to immediately stop using the baby loungers, remove the foam padding, and cut the cover in half, and dispose of the cover and padding.
The agency issued the following reminders to parents and caregivers:
The best place for an infant to sleep is on a firm, flat surface in a crib, bassinet or play yard.
Use a fitted sheet only and never add blankets, pillows, padded crib bumpers, or other items to an infant’s sleeping environment.
Infants should always be placed to sleep on their back. Those who fall asleep in an inclined or upright position should be moved to a safe sleep environment with a firm, flat surface such as a crib, bassinet or play yard.
