A few Republican leaders in Maryland announced their support Wednesday for Governor Wes Moore’s 2026 reelection campaign, citing his results-driven leadership, commitment to collaboration, and focus on delivering for all Marylanders—regardless of political affiliation.
I made a promise to the people of Maryland when I was elected that I would be a governor for all Marylanders, not just some–that’s a promise I’m going to continue to keep,” said Governor Wes Moore, via press release. “We’re not picking winners and losers here, we’re bringing everyone with us. After two and a half years we’ve created 100,000 jobs, brought down violent crime statewide, and have made record investments in public schools. With the support of these bipartisan leaders we will continue to build a Maryland that leaves no one behind.
Republicans from across the state announced their support for the governor’s reelection:
“Since taking office, Governor Moore has worked day and night to jumpstart our economy,” said John Barr, Commission President of Washington County, via a press release. “It seems like every week we’ve got an announcement of a new business or an expansion coming to the county. Together we’ve brought hundreds of jobs to this community, millions in new economic activity, and made critical investments in I-81. Our local economy needs that continued partnership in Annapolis to build upon the progress we’ve seen.”

“Governor Moore and I don’t agree on everything, but his commitment to bipartisanship is why I’m proud to stand alongside him as he seeks reelection,” said Travis Marion, Mayor of Rising Sun, via a press release. “His Project Restore initiative brought $150,000 directly into our community—revitalizing Main Street and breathing new life into vacant storefronts. That’s the kind of meaningful investment our town needs to build an economy that works for everyone.”
“When disaster struck our community, Governor Moore was there for us,” said Judy Hamilton, Mayor of Westernport, via a press release. “We might not see eye to eye on everything, but I’m proud to support the person who has been fighting for my town through this difficult time. It’s clear to me that he cares about all of our communities, not just the big cities, but the small towns too.”

“I’m excited to support Governor Moore as he seeks to continue his mission to build a Maryland that leaves no one behind,” said Jack Coburn, Mayor of Lonaconing, via a press release. “I’ve been the mayor here for twenty seven years, until 2023 we often wondered if the folks in Annapolis remembered us. But, when our water treatment system failed in January of 2023, he was here on his first days in office to ensure that the people of our community had access to clean drinking water. While politicians in Washington and around the nation are more divided than ever, Governor Moore is showing Marylanders there is a better way forward.”
“Governor Moore has shown us that he is committed to ensuring success for all communities in Maryland, not just some,” said Carl Anderton, Former Maryland State Delegate, via a press release. “The governor has invested $1.9 billion in education funding for the Eastern Shore, as well as $1 million into the Salisbury Airport runway expansion, and $64 million to renovate Blackwell Hall at Salisbury University. Our community is better because of his leadership–we need him in Annapolis for another four years.”

When he says we’re leaving no one behind, rest assured he’s got this community at the top of mind.”
