ChatGPT Studio Ghibli was a rage for a short time and now Google’s new Nano Banana AI model is going viral. You can create 3D figurines using the image generator tool in the Gemini app and the results are being widely shared across social media, with people even uploading their photos to see themselves in 3D avatar.
Nano Banana is the trending term and Google’s new release might have come earlier but has gradually picked up everyone’s attention. So in case you’ve missed the Nano Banana boat so far, we’re here to give you a low down on what the new Gemini AI feature does and how it makes 3D figurines in different situations.
Nano Banana: What’s The New Gemini Model About?
Nano Banana is the new version of Gemini designed for image generation by Google’s DeepMind team. The new feature works through the Gemini app or website for mobile and desktop users, respectively. It is quite simple, you just upload an image of yours, or your dog or a friend, feed the right contextual prompt and the results are exciting, at least that’s what people sharing their 3D figurines are saying.
Nano Banana: It Works
We tried out Nano banana on the Gemini app to see its performance, speed of delivering the rendered images and how accurate are the details in them. The overall quality was a mixed bag where some of the images had the exact character in the 3D version, while in some of them the subject was completely redone.
We used this prompt:
Create a 1/7 scale commercialised figurine of the characters in the picture, in a realistic style, in a real environment. The figurine is placed on a computer desk. Nano Banana goes much beyond the regular edits with the new update on Gemini. You can blend two photos and make a new image just by asking the AI model to put both the subjects in the same scenario. For instance, have a girl and dog blending into one photo sitting in a park.
Gemini’s Nano banana doesn’t seem to have any limits but the free version will see the results come slowly and the quality will be slightly lower than what you get with the paid version.
Google has introduced its new Gemini AI Plus plan that goes up against ChatGPT Go and launched in Indonesia this week with more likely to be added in the next few weeks or months.
