One UI 8 beta for the Galaxy Watch series is making its way through generations, bringing the OS to the Watch 6 while ending registration for others.
According to a new forum post on Samsung’s official community site, the company has begun rolling out One UI 8 beta updates for the Galaxy Watch 6. The Watch 6 falls two generations behind the current Watch 8 lineup. The new Watch 8 series was released with One UI 8 already installed, and it offers some nice changes.
The update includes access to Vascular Load readings and an Antioxidant Index for finer health measurements. With that, the Vascular Load feature plays into the new Running Coach feature to offer better training insights. Sleep tracking also got a boost with Bedtime Guidance.
That changelog also notes that the One UI 8 beta registration has ended for the Galaxy Watch 7. The program opened up at the end of June for the Galaxy Watch 7 series, including the Watch Ultra. It looks like the beta is no longer accepting new registrations. If you’re already a part of the One UI 8 beta based on Wear OS 6, you won’t be kicked off. This is simply an end to new signups.

For those on the Galaxy Watch 6, you can sign up via the Samsung Members app. There’s a new One UI beta section that details available updates. From there, the Wear OS 6 update will be available for registration. It just takes a couple of taps before the install appears in settings.
Samsung hasn’t made note of when the Galaxy Watch 5 series will get access to the One UI 8 beta. The company pinpointed the watches as eligible in the initial beta rollout, so we know it’s coming eventually. It’s unknown if it will take another three months before Samsung opens up registrations.
