Bettendorf police are reminding people that there are three traditional activities taking place this week and next week that may impact driving through the city.
At 6 p.m. Thursday, Pleasant Valley High School will hold its homecoming parade on Belmont Road.
Belmont Road will be closed from the entrance of Scott Community College, 500 Belmont Road, to Pleasant Valley High School, 604 Belmont Road.
The parade will start at the entrance of Scott Community College and proceed down Belmont Road, ending at Pleasant Valley High School.
From 7-11 a.m. Sunday, the Quad Cities Marathon will take place across four cities, including Bettendorf.

Several roads in Bettendorf will be closed as runners cross the Interstate 74 Bridge from Illinois to Iowa via the bike and pedestrian path. Runners will then travel east on State Street until they reach the intersection of 17th Street and George Thuenen Drive.
Runners not involved in the full marathon will turn south and cross the George Thuenen Bridge to access the Mississippi River Trail and head toward Davenport.
Those who are running the full marathon will head north on 17th Street to Mississippi Boulevard. Runners will then turn west on Mississippi Boulevard to Kimberly Road and run north on Kimberly Road to Lincoln Road. Runners will then turn east on Lincoln Road to 14th Street. Runners will go south on 14th Street to Alcoa Avenue, then back North on 14th Street to Lincoln Road where they will head east to 23rd Street.
At 23rd Street, runners will go south to Central Avenue and head west to 18th Street. Runners will then turn south on 18th Street to Mississippi Boulevard until the turn on 17th Street to the George Thuenen Bridge. After crossing the bridge, runners will go to the Mississippi River Trail and head toward Davenport.
Then, on Thursday, October 2, Bettendorf High School will hold its homecoming parade on 18th Street.
Starting at 6 p.m. 18th Street will be closed from the entrance of Bettendorf Middle School, 2030 Middle Road, to Bettendorf High School, 3333 18th Street. The parade will start at the entrance of Bettendorf Middle School and proceed up 18th Street, ending at Bettendorf High School.
