TSA has now banned these 3 items from checked bags

The Transportation Security Administration recently implemented new restrictions on three hair styling items, prohibiting them from checked baggage due to safety concerns.
The banned items all relate to cordless curling irons and flatirons. Travelers can no longer pack cordless curling irons and flatirons powered by butane gas in checked bags, nor can they pack cordless versions that contain lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries.
Gas refills, also known as spare cartridges for curling irons and flatirons, face the strictest prohibition and are now banned from both checked and carry-on luggage.
However, two of the three restricted items can still travel with passengers in carry-on bags under specific conditions. Cordless curling irons and flatirons may be packed in carry-on luggage provided they have a safety cover that prevents accidental activation during flight.
Electric curling irons and hair straighteners that use cords remain unaffected by these new rules and continue to be allowed in both checked and carry-on luggage.
The restrictions appear designed to address potential fire hazards from battery-powered devices and butane-fueled tools in the cargo hold, where any incidents would be more difficult to detect and address than in the passenger cabin.
Travelers planning to bring hair styling tools should verify their specific device type and power source before packing to avoid delays or confiscation at security checkpoints.
