WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — The Willoughby House Inn, a 20,000-square-foot estate once left vacant, has been restored to its 1902 grandeur and is offering guests a taste of Cleveland’s Gilded Age — whether for a single night or an extravagant weekend.
The historic property south of downtown Willoughby, listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Julia F. Boyce Country Estate, recently reopened following a two-year renovation led by owners Mike and Marcia Neundorfer.
The project has earned the Cleveland Restoration Society’s Excellence in Adaptive Use of a Historic Building Award and the Western Willoughby Chamber of Commerce Showcase Award.
Hotel Manager Cody Cook said the new overnight packages “transport our guests to a gilded age time when Cleveland was the epicenter of wealth and cultural sophistication.”
The packages include:
The Gilded Age Gluttonous Weekend ($190,200): A two-night full-estate rental featuring seven luxury guestrooms and three carriage house suites. Guests can host a private gala with limitless champagne, enjoy a seven-course dinner for 100, tour the Western Reserve Historical Society and the West Side Market after hours, and travel in chauffeured luxury automobiles — even aboard a privately rented train.
The Gilded Age Weekend ($1,902): Two nights in a luxury guestroom, a four-course dinner at Julia’s 1902 — the inn’s signature restaurant — nightcaps in the Boyce Bar, tickets to the Cleveland History Center and Cleveland Museum of Art, and a luxury rental car.
“Off to Newport” Gilded Age Overnight Escape ($190.20): A one-night stay with a curated welcome amenity, preferred admission to the Cleveland History Center and 15% off dining at Julia’s 1902.
The inn also features flexible event spaces and Julia’s 1902 fine-dining restaurant, known for locally sourced cuisine and creative cocktails, as well as the intimate Boyce Bar.
