Ghanaian highlife musician Akwaboah received a special honour at the Youth in Business (YIB) Summit 2025, held on 18th September at the British Council in Accra.
The recognition, was for his outstanding entrepreneurship and enduring impact on the music scene in Ghana and abroad, as a young achiever.
Akwaboah is a talented musician, a gifted writer and entrepreneur, whose philanthropic efforts (often behind the scenes) have affected society positively. He is admired for his thought-provoking lyrics and the didactic messages he communicates through melody and rhythm.
The Youth in Business Summit brings together young entrepreneurs, creatives, policymakers and innovators to explore opportunities for business and national development.
This year’s edition, organised in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Development, was held under the theme “Ignite the Future: Youth Power, Innovation, and Impact.” It offered participants practical tools, knowledge and inspiration to build sustainable businesses and support Ghana’s economic growth.
The two-day programme featured panel discussions, keynote addresses, skill-building workshops and networking sessions.
Reacting to the honour, Akwaboah shared a video of the moment on social media, describing it as humbling.
Meanwhile, the award-winning artiste has released a new single on self-love titled Obinim.
