In an embarrassing moment, the President struggled to pronounce acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol
US President Donald Trump stumbled over the pronunciation of ‘acetaminophen’ while he made an unproven claim that paracetamol is linked to autism. He was speaking at the Oval Office with Health Secretary RKF Jr on Monday, the two suggested that the use of paracetamol – or Tylenol in the US – in pregnancy is linked to an increase risk of autism. In an embarrassing moment, the President struggled to pronounce acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol. “Asceda— well, let’s see how we say that. Ascenem—enophin. Acetaminophen. Is that okay?” the president said during the announcement, stumbling over his words. The White House event, framed as a major update on autism prevention, instead became a viral moment.ALSO READ: D4vd Tesla controversy takes another shocking turn: Did Celeste Rivas lie about her age? Internet abuzz with rumoursAutism announcement by TrumpTrump on Tuesday offered advice on medicines and vaccines during a White House press conference and linked them to autism rates. “I’m not a doctor, but I’m giving my opinion,” Trump said. After months of investigations spearheaded by US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Donald Trump announced that pregnant women should limit their use of acetaminophen—sold as Tylenol in the US and paracetamol in India and other countries. Trump claimed that taking the drug during pregnancy could increase the risk of autism in children. This advice is at odds with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, which has long stated that acetaminophen is safe to use during pregnancy, news agency Associated Press reported. Trump also spoke about when young children should be given painkillers.”Don’t let them pump your baby up with the largest pile of stuff you’ve ever seen in your life,” Trump said. “It’s not that everything’s 100% understood or known, but I think we’ve made a lot of strides,” he added. He also said: “Taking Tylenol is not good … All pregnant women should talk to their doctors about limiting the use of this medication while pregnant.”Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
