A dramatic scene unfolded in Rajasthan’s Kota late in the night of September 19, when a minor girl and a young man created a ruckus by climbing onto the roof of a police jeep. The incident unfolded in the Rampura area when the police attempted to apprehend the duo, who had been on the run following an attempt to elope together.
The 22-year-old man, who was reportedly intoxicated, and the 17-year-old girl then climbed onto the roof of a police jeep, hurling abuses and creating chaos in the middle of a busy street. A video of the incident has surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), showing the pair on the police jeep, with the girl seen trying to handle the situation.
According to a report by NDTV, the police revealed that the drama began with a missing person report. The teenage girl had gone missing from her home, which prompted her family to file a report at the Nanta police station on the outskirts of Kota. Acting on a tip-off, the nearby Rampura police found her with the young man, who was identified as a local. He was with the girl when the police came to take him into custody for questioning.
Police Registered A Case Against The Young Man
What followed this was pure chaos. When the police officers tried to take them into the police jeep for safe transport to the station, the duo resisted. Instead of cooperating with the authorities, the man lifted the girl onto the roof of the police vehicle and then climbed up there himself. The two began shouting slogans, banging on the roof and refused to come down.
The unusual scene stopped traffic and drew a large crowd, where people were seen recording the entire scene. People watched as the drama went on for nearly 10 minutes before police managed to bring them down. Meanwhile, the girl repeatedly shouted, “Let him go.” The pair were then taken to the Rampura Kotwali police station, and a case has been registered against the young man for public obscenity, causing a disturbance and eloping with a minor.

Internet Reacts To The Chaos Caused By The Pair
Taking to the comments section of the video, many users have criticised the duo’s reckless act. One of them said, “This is seriously infuriating! Creating chaos on Kota’s streets at midnight by climbing onto a police vehicle, such shameless and reckless behaviour is absolutely unacceptable. These people have no respect for law or order, only for causing noise and panic.”
Another added, “Only in Kota… romance turns into full-blown street theatre! Climbing onto a police vehicle, that’s less love story and more headline-making chaos.”
“Kota was meant for education. Somehow, it became a playground for midnight stunts and romance while parents sleep,” a different user wrote.

Such chaotic behaviour from the pair led locals to question the youth unrest in the area and criticise their reckless behaviour on a busy street.
