Srikakulam Youth Congress president Pudi Kiran kumar on Wednesday led a protest against the rising unemployment. He alleged that unemployment has led to unrest among the youth in Srikakulam district and other parts of the country. The protest titled ‘‘Naukiri Chor-Gadde Chod’ was held in line with the nationwide call given by the Congress high command. . Speaking on the occasion, he said that the party chose to observe Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday as National Unemployment Day. He citied the lack of jobs and livelihood opportunities for over 44% of the youth in the country.
He claimed that over 7 lakh people from Srikakulam have migrated to other places in search of work. “Unfortunately those who have migrated are unable earn basic salaries. Back home the families who depend on their income are also in deep trouble,” said Mr.Kiran Kumar.
