Boulder County Democrats name Stuart C. Lord as executive director

The Boulder County Democrats have hired longtime community leader and educator Stuart C. Lord for a newly introduced executive director position, according to a news release from the organization.
The new role aims to reach voters in novel ways and “strengthen the progressive message,” the release says.
Lord has spent time in civic engagement, grassroots organizing and higher education. His career includes serving as president of Naropa University and holding leadership positions at Dartmouth College and DePauw University, according to the organization.
In announcing the hire, the county party said Lord will lead efforts including community listening sessions and forums on issues such as affordability, mental health and immigrant rights. His position will also involve fundraising, youth outreach and an effort to “counter misinformation and strengthen community confidence in elections,” according to the organization.
In the release, Lord said it is “a profound honor to serve this Party at such a pivotal moment. We will build on the foundation created by generations of volunteers and leaders, expand our outreach through kitchen table conversations, and ensure that every community in Boulder County knows they belong at this table.”
