In Federal Hill, a recent surge in gun violence has residents on edge.
Residents say a ShotSpotter prompted the installation of a ShotSpotter, a gunfire detection system, at the corner of Hamburg and Hanover.
That is the same intersection of the tragic shooting of 19-year-old Cameron Holt, who was killed by a barrage of bullets, after a fight broke out.
Residents have mixed feelings about the new technology.

Chris, a Hanover Street resident, shared a video with police of a speeding vehicle possibly involved in an earlier shooting at the same intersection.
“With like recent events like, probably a good tool to have in the neighborhood just in case, if that does happen again,” Chris said, acknowledging the necessity despite his reservations.
The Baltimore Police Department is still searching for two individuals linked to a nearby shooting that injured 39-year-old Dawn Roberts.
“Praying that my family didn’t have to bury me. That’s what replays in my mind,” Roberts said.
While the BPD has not confirmed the installation due to confidentiality, residents are adjusting to what they call their new reality.
“I do know a bunch of people that are concerned as they walk around,” Chris said.
The community remains divided, with some supporting the ShotSpotter as a safety measure, while others express disappointment over the need for such technology in their neighborhood.
