Cookie deal: Crumbl announces birthday promotion for Staten Island shops

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Crumbl, the wildly popular dessert chain known for its rotating cookie menu and signature pink boxes, is celebrating its eighth birthday nationwide — and Staten Islanders can join the party with a celebratory cookie deal.
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, customers can get six cookies for the price of four, available both in-store and via the Crumbl mobile app. The promotion is part of a weeklong celebration that includes exclusive giveaways, limited-edition birthday boxes, and festive stickers.
The Staten Island locations can be found at South Shore Commons — 2955 Veterans Road West, Charleston; 718-313-5420 — and 423 Forest Ave., West Brighton; 718-316-4288. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and 8 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
“Birthdays are all about gratitude, and this one belongs to our fans,” said Jason McGowan, Crumbl CEO and co-founder. “Every dessert shared, every story told, and every smile sparked has made the past eight years possible. This offer is our way of saying thank you and inviting everyone to the party.”
From Utah to Staten Island
Founded in 2017 in Logan, Utah, by cousins Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley, Crumbl has grown from a single cookie shop to what it calls the fastest-growing dessert chain in the U.S., with over 1,100 locations across all 50 states, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Locally, the buzz began in 2023 when a Crumbl sign appeared at South Shore Commons in Tottenville. That excitement turned into reality when Aimee and Rob Tarantino, North Shore residents, opened their first Staten Island location at 2955 Veterans Road West in October of that year.
“It was always what I wanted to do — sell cookies,” said Aimee, who, along with her husband Rob, fell in love with the product after a single taste. Today, the Tarantinos operate both Staten Island locations.
Cookies, Community, and Careers
Crumbl’s appeal lies in its weekly rotating menu, announced every Sunday at 7 p.m. EST on social media. While the classic milk chocolate chip remains a staple, fans eagerly await new and returning flavors — from frosted animal cookie to churro and everything in between.
Each Staten Island location employs about 60 workers, offering both full- and part-time positions. Perks? Sampling the goods, of course.
Bakers craft each batch from scratch — mixing dough, shaping cookies, baking, and applying toppings with care. While the stores won’t hire drivers initially, third-party delivery services will handle orders. Crumbl also offers catering for events, with three days’ notice required for pickup.
Crumbl’s meteoric rise is fueled by its massive social media following — over five million TikTok fans and counting. But despite its size, the company emphasizes its family-owned roots and commitment to local franchisees.
“No matter how big the brand becomes, Crumbl is a family-owned business and is proud to contribute to the livelihoods of its thousands of local franchise partners, managers and bakers,” reads a statement on the company’s website.
