Spider-Man: Brand New Day is pausing production for a week after Tom Holland was injured on the set last Friday.
As Rolling Stone previously confirmed, the actor suffered a mild concussion and took a break from filming out of an abundance of caution. Details regarding Holland’s accident remain unknown, and no one else on set was injured during the incident.
Directly following the incident, production was set to continue. However, on Monday, a source told Variety that production will pause for a week and that shooting is set to continue on Sept. 29, while the film’s July 31, 2026, release date will not be impacted.
A rep for Holland did not immediately return Rolling Stone‘s request for comment.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the fourth edition in the franchise, and while Jon Watts directed Holland in the previous three Spider-Man films, the upcoming movie is being helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
“It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on Spider-Man. It’s funny, putting the suit on, it feels different this time, somehow. It’s also the first time we ever had fans on set day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them,” Holland said on set in a the video released by Sony last month. “We’ve got some familiar faces on set. I’m just going to do my best, hopefully get it right, no pressure.”
