Quad-Cities ABC affiliate TV station WQAD will air comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s show tonight, according to the station.
The show is scheduled to air at 10:35 p.m. Central time, according to the station’s TV listing.
Disney on Monday reversed its suspension of Kimmel, a late-night talk show host. The company had suspended Kimmel’s show last week after comments he made on the show about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. His comments drew criticism from the chair of the Federal Communications Commission, who called on ABC and other broadcasters to take action. Kimmel’s suspension sparked protests and backlash from Democrats and free speech advocates.
Despite Disney’s reversal, television station giants Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group announced their stations would keep Kimmel off the air.
WQAD is not owned by either of those groups. Tegna, Inc., acquired WQAD as part of a deal in 2019. While Nexstar has entered an agreement to acquire Tegna, the deal has not yet gone through.
