Katie Price has been seen sporting a large white plaster on her hand following a hospital visit due to her sudden weight loss . The 47-year-old mother of five has raised eyebrows in recent weeks after shedding several pounds. Katie, who was already slender before this health scare, confesses she’s unsure why she’s losing so much weight. However, the reality TV star is resolute in uncovering the cause of her body’s changes. On Monday, Katie was spotted with a plaster on her hand, having undergone a series of blood tests. She arrived half an hour late for her meet and greet event with Kerry Katona at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury. The pair have been touring the UK since the beginning of the month for their ‘An Evening With Katie Price and Kerry Katona’ shows. Emerging on Monday, Katie opted for a relaxed ensemble, wearing a loose grey cardigan with leggings and white trainers. She pulled her hair back into a casual bun and concealed herself behind oversized sunglasses in an effort to maintain a low profile, reports the Mirror . Over the weekend, Katie voiced her bewilderment over her significant weight loss during a health update on Snapchat, having previously denied using weight loss medication. While at the hospital, she mentioned needing stitches removed after accidentally cutting herself while preparing a curry. ‘I’ve had an early start at the doctors for some blood tests, but my veins were so tricky they had to try three times,” Katie revealed on her SnapChat story. “They only managed to fill two tubes, so I have to return in a fortnight.” Katie went on: “And I’ll have my stitches removed then because they examined the small stab wound I inflicted. The reason for my doctor’s visits is that I keep shedding weight and I can’t figure out why. So that’s the situation.” In the past, Katie addressed fans’ worries about her slimming down, confirming it was deliberate. Back in May, she declared: “Yes I’ve lost weight. Yes that’s what I’ve aimed for, I wanted to lose weight.” “Because… three, four years ago when I broke my feet I was wheelchair-bound for ten months as they said I’d never walk again, and naturally you gain weight being in a wheelchair. And then I underwent all the IVF treatments, which also lead to weight gain. So yes, I did put on weight and I despised it, I felt uncomfortable and it wasn’t me.” Last year, she also candidly discussed her battle with weight and body image during an episode of the Louis Theroux podcast. “I always maintained I don’t have body dysmorphia,” she admitted. “But there’s definitely something, I’m not sure what it is. I’ve never looked in the mirror and thought I’m pretty.” Want all the biggest Showbiz and TV news straight to your inbox? Sign up for our free Daily Star Showbiz newsletter.
