President Donald Trump had some dire words for whoever was responsible for a teleprompter fail during Trump’s huge address to the United Nations on Tuesday.
Trump at the very beginning of his address pointed out to the crowd that his teleprompter wasn’t working.
And while the president initially said he had no problem working around the glitch, he quickly changed his tone, according to The Wrap.
“I feel very happy to be up here with you nevertheless,” Trump said. “And that way you speak more from the heart.
But the president then said, “I can only say that whoever is operating this teleprompter is in big trouble.”
It’s not the first time that Trump has experienced a high-profile teleprompter fail.
Trump had complained about teleprompter issues during a speech last June, saying that “I pay all this money to teleprompter people, and I’d say 20% of the time, they don’t work.”
Trump then said he would refuse to pay the vendor who provided the teleprompter service.
After the glitch at the U.N. on Tuesday, Trump read from a paper copy of his speech. He touted disputed claims about his high approval ratings and lower prices for gas and groceries. The president also hit out at windmill technology.
Slamming a number of U.N. counties who were in the room, Trump claimed that he’s been “right about everything” and encouraged counties to ignore climate change concerns and to avoid putting more green measures in place.
Trump also lamented that during his previous career as a real estate developer he had bid to do renovation work on the U.N. but was not picked for the job.
