Air travellers in India can pre-book a seat in a lounge but soon they may also be able to pre-book a slot at security check at an Adani group-run airport.
This is one of the initiatives under consideration and is part of Adani Airports Holdings Ltd’s (AAHL) digital road map that aims to improve passenger engagement, optimise operations and grow revenue for the group’s eight airports.
Last September AAHL rolled out a platform to enhance collaboration among all stakeholders. Called aviio, it offers data insights to all airport stakeholders including airlines, Central Industrial Security Force and immigration bureau to effectively manage disruptions and other operational issues such as gate changes.
“We are deploying video analytics and data analytics on kerbside and inside the terminals to manage queues,” said AAHL’s Chief Digital Officer Ekta Ghosh.
While tokenisation trials are underway, AAHL will be sharing data insights to airlines and airport stakeholders so that they can take necessary action to reduce congestion.
Along side, the group is running various projects that look to provide bag drop facilities for Digital Yatra-enabled passengers and improve aircraft turnaround by developing systems.
These measures are important with passengers turning digitally savvy and air traffic growing faster than capacity addition. As such airports are investing more in technology to sweat their assets better.
customer contact centre
Ghosh said AAHL will also be rolling out single consolidated customer contact centre for all its eight airports including soon to open Navi Mumbai airport. This will be available in multiple Indian and foreign languages and is expected to ready in six months. The contact centre will linked with social media platforms for effective grievance redressal, she added.
Navi Mumbai airport which is set to be inaugurated on September 30 will have all digital processes from day one of operations and documents such as airport entry passes, driving permits will be made available on app for airport employees.
The group has also developed “ Airport in a Box” model with harmonised tech stack and plug and play systems. This initiative is aimed at future-proofing infrastructure – focuses on investments that ensure scalability and readiness for onboarding new airports. By enabling plug-and-play systems and delivering digital twins, capacity expansions are no longer treated as disjointed projects but are seamlessly integrated into digital-native operations
