Johnny Doughnuts, a Food Network favorite, set to open at Napa’s Oxbow Public Market

Johnny Doughnuts, a Bay Area bakery once ranked among the nation’s top five by the Food Network, will open a location inside Napa’s Oxbow Public Market early next year.
The Marin-born company, founded in 2012 by Craig Blum, is known for its wide variety of doughnuts — from raised classics and cinnamon rolls to vegan and wheat-free options. It already has shops in San Rafael, San Francisco, Larkspur and Santa Rosa.
At Oxbow, Johnny Doughnuts will take over the former Napa Valley Distillery space between The Olive Press and Live Fire Pizza. The 400-square-foot storefront doesn’t currently have a kitchen, so the business will need to build out infrastructure before opening, property manager Gabe Carlin said.
Carlin said the addition reflects the market’s focus on curating a diverse mix of tenants.
“We’re not going to bring a second bookstore or a second coffee place,” he said. “We’re thinking about the local perspective and what the best mix is of our tenants to make it an attraction.”
The market currently has 20 tenants, with longtime staples including Ritual Coffee, Kara’s Cupcakes and Hog Island Oyster Co. Some businesses, like Hudson Goods & Greens, have expanded to operate in more than one space.
Johnny Doughnuts is expected to open sometime in the first quarter of 2026, Carlin said.
Blum, the company’s founder, responded to inquiries but did not answer questions for this story.
