Officials from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Rajamahendravaram, have sought support for the proposed expansion of the National Highway-16 —from a four-lane to six-lane road between Anakapalli and Rajamahendravaram City.

NHAI Rajahmundry project director Rohit Kumar presented the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the six-lane road project to MLAs of Kakinada district. Kakinada district during a review meeting chaired by District Collector S. Shan Mohan. Discussions focused on new alignments, proposed locations for construction of flyovers and Road Over Bridges (ROBs).

Mr. Shan Mohan said that key challenges pertaining to population density, land acquisition and Resettlement and Rehabilitation package have been discussed.

Tuni MLA Yanamala Divya, Peddapuram MLA Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa, Kakinada City MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao along with other officials attended the meeting.
