Rebecca Black got through ‘crazy’ Katy Perry tour with lots of ‘gay sex’

Rebecca Black has revealed the secret to getting through a world tour as the support act for one of the world’s biggest pop stars is ‘gay sex’.

Rebecca Black, formerly known for infamous viral hit “Friday” in 2011 and now famous for returning to music with a new album SALVATION as an out and proud queer woman, spent the summer supporting Katy Perry on the latter’s Lifetimes Tour.

Black played stadiums across the United States and Canada with Perry, marking the first time the star “Sugar Water Cyanide” had performed to that number of people.

And at the 2025 VMA Awards, Black has revealed just how she managed the stress of such a challenge, and it’s an answer we can highly recommend.

“I have said it once, and I’ll say it again. It is the gay sex that I am so blessed to have that I can look forward to,” Black told PEOPLE on the red carpet at New York’s UBS Arena on Sunday, 7 September.

Black confirmed that she was engaging in such activities with “my girlfriend,” giving no other hint as to the identity of her partner.

The 28-year-old previously recommended “gay sex” as a way to manage stress at the AMAs in May, so it’s good to see some consistency.

Speaking of the Lifetimes Tour, Rebecca Black also shared just how much work goes into a show of that scale:

“It takes more than a village. It’s multiple cities of people who are working day and night to get these things up. I can’t believe she trusts these girls to put her in the sky. It’s a lot,” she said.

“I was so overstimulated the first night and so scared, and by the end it felt so like redeeming to be able to get on and be like, ‘This is just another show,’” she added. “It was so much fun. But it was crazy.”
