GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — The local branch of the Atlantic County Library System will reopen Monday following the installation of a new $2.5 million HVAC system. The library had been closed since mid-June for construction.
“We’re pleased that the work was completed on schedule with limited inconvenience,” County Executive Dennis Levinson said Tuesday in a statement. “The new system should further enhance the enjoyment of this important community asset.”
The branch at 306 E. Jimmie Leeds Road is the fourth in the county to receive a new HVAC system with partial funding from the New Jersey State Library and the American Rescue Plan, the county said. HVAC systems were previously installed in Hammonton, Egg Harbor Township and Mays Landing.
With the reopening of the Galloway library, extended hours at the Absecon branch will end, the county said.
